Choosing who to see for your aesthetics treatments will be one of the most important decisions you make about your skin health care.

Aesthetics treatments work well, but no procedure is without risks of side effects, and we bring our medical skills and knowledge of healthcare to the treatment of our patients.

We are prescribers, and take a full medical history during your consultation. This means that the treatments recommended will take into consideration any conditions which are relevant. If we feel it is not medically safe for you to consider a particular treatment we will explain this to you, as this will be in your best interests.

In addition to our medical skills, we use products that have been tested and approved, and where available they will be CE marked or FDA approved. We use licensed brands of botulinum toxin (Botox®, Bocouture®). Botox® is licensed for the treatment of frown lines and crows feet, Bocouture® is licensed for the treatment of frown lines. The use of these neurotoxins for other areas is considered ‘off-label’ use i.e. it is being used beyond the original license. Many drugs are used ‘off-label’ in medicine, please do talk to us about this if you have any concerns.

What is CE Marking?

The CE mark is required for many products. It shows that the manufacturer has checked that the product meets EU safety, health or environmental requirements and is an indicator of a product’s compliance with EU legislation https://www.gov.uk/guidance/ce-marking

Always make sure to ask that your aesthetic practitioner uses only CE marked or FDA approved aesthetic products for your treatments. THEre are many aesthetic injectable products available that have not been rigorously tested or gone through approval processes, and we just don’t know if they are safe to inject.
